One of Kyle’s favorite character is Forrest Woodbush from the movies, “The Good Dinosaur,” that’s why he wants to post a video about a Styracosaurus. Here are some facts that we know about this dinosaur.
- It’s name means “spiked lizard.”
- It’s a herbivore and it lived during the Cretaceous Period.
- The paleontologist, C.M. Sternberg first found the fossils in Alberta, Canada and named by Lawrence Nambe. The other area where the fossils were found was in Montana, USA.
- The shield-like feature on the Styracosaurus head is called a frill. He has a spectacular set of horns – about 6 long ones which comes out from it’s frills, small horns above each eyes and one long horn around 2 feet long protruding from its nose.

- It’s about 18 feet long and 6 feet tall which is about the size of an elephant. It’s built like an elephant with a thick hide. It stands on fours on it’s short, thick and strong legs. It has a big head and a short pointed tail.
- Styracosaurus is an ancestor of the Triceratops.
- It can run up to 20mph if it needs to, probably running away from a predator.
- Paleontologists believes that it lived in herds because they found a large deposits of fossilized bones which have about 100 Styracosaurus.
